St. Anthony Community Hospital Earns ACR Ultrasound Accreditation
The ultrasound team at St. Anthony Community Hospital, a member of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth), was recently granted reaccreditation for a two-year term by the American College of Radiology (ACR) in ultrasound imaging.
Ultrasound imaging, also known as sonography, uses high-frequency sound waves to produce images of internal body parts to help providers make accurate diagnoses.
ACR accreditation is a gold seal that patients can rely on as an indicator of the highest level of image quality and patient safety. The accreditation is only awarded to facilities meeting ACR Practice Parameters and Technical Standards following a peer-review evaluation by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field. Professionals assess image quality, personnel qualifications, equipment adequacy, quality control procedures and quality assurance programs in order to grant accreditation.
The St. Anthony Community Hospital ultrasound team prioritizes quality imaging with quick exam reviews and follow-up times. Patients with a variety of different medical needs are treated with the latest advanced technology including state-of-the-art ultrasound machines. This gold seal of accreditation only further exemplifies the dedication to providing the highest quality of ultrasound imaging for patients.
All the ultrasound technologists at St. Anthony Community Hospital have multiple credentials including OB/GYN, abdominal, vascular and breast imaging certifications and have graduated from highly accredited ultrasound programs.
All WMCHealth hospitals are ACR Ultrasound accredited.
