WARWICK – (February 14) On Friday, February 12, Schervier Pavilion staff decorated the dining hall with hearts and balloons as family members joined their loved ones to celebrate Valentine's Day with a "Sweetheart Ball."
In addition to special Valentine's Day refreshments, guests were treated to live entertainment by popular singer and musician Chris Durante whose lively music encouraged impromptu dancing and singing by families and residents to Elvis Presley era tunes.
"We hosted this event to give our residents and their families an opportunity to share a holiday tradition together," said Schervier Pavilion Director of Recreation Kari Call. "We're happy that everyone could enjoy this day regardless of their generation. And everyone agreed that the music, the singing and the dancing were lots of fun."
As Director of Recreation, her job is to provide recreation resources and opportunities for both the long and short-term residents of the skilled nursing home in order to maintain and improve their health and well being.
