St. Anthony Community Hospital Recognized by Healthgrades

The Kennedy Birthing Center at St. Anthony Community Hospital, a member of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth), has received a 5-Star rating in 2022 for both Vaginal Delivery and C-Section Delivery from Healthgrades, a leading online hospital ratings source.

The Kennedy Birthing Center includes eight Labor Delivery Recovery Post-Partum (LDRP) private rooms with their own bathrooms, mini refrigerators and sleeper chairs for dads with 24-hour access.

Demand breastfeeding is supported, which encourages breastfeeding where babies can nurse on demand; 85 percent of new moms now breast feed. A lactation consultant is available to help them, if necessary, and to offer breastfeeding classes every two months for pregnant women who want to breastfeed. An operating room suite is on the same floor for C-sections, and five beds are dedicated for gynecological and female plastic surgery patients. Security is also utilized to protect the babies.

A 10-bed Level 2 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Good Samaritan Hospital, a member of WMCHealth, can safely care for babies born at 32 weeks or older who weigh over three pounds. Good Samaritan has a close affiliation with the Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (RNICU) at Maria Fareri Children's Hospital, a member of WMCHealth, so mothers identified as high risk or babies in need of more advanced care are seamlessly transferred there. This nursery cares for babies with every type of medical issue in a family-oriented, professional environment. The RNICU is staffed with specially trained physicians, nurses and health professionals who are experts in the treatment of premature and ill newborns. Each baby receives the personal attention his or her condition requires.
