WARWICK – (February 15) On Tuesday, February 14, Schervier Pavilion staff decorated the dining hall with hearts and balloons as family members joined their loved ones to celebrate Valentine's Day at a "Sweetheart Ball."
In addition to special Valentine's Day refreshments and individual roses and necklaces, residents and their guests were treated to live entertainment by popular singer and guitar player Marty Koppel whose music encouraged several impromptu sing alongs.
"We hosted this event to give our residents and their families an opportunity to share a holiday tradition together," said Schervier Pavilion Director of Recreation Kari Call. "We're happy that everyone could enjoy this day regardless of their generation. And everyone agreed that the music, singing and refreshments were lots of fun."
As Director of Recreation, her job is to provide recreation resources and opportunities for both the long and short-term residents of the skilled nursing home in order to maintain and improve their health and well being.
All programs at Schervier Pavilion are designed to meet the psychosocial and physical needs of the residents with activities that are not only enjoyable but are also intended to achieve this goal.
