Campus Update
By: Leah Cerkvenik, Executive Vice President

It’s hard to believe another year has gone by and Thanksgiving is just a couple of days away. Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday because for me it always means the beginning of the holiday season. Thanksgiving is that special time of year when, as a family and as a nation, we pause on to celebrate our many gifts.
In preparing this message, I spent time reflecting on this past year and the many gifts for which I am truly grateful. Among the gifts I most appreciate is the gift of being part of such a remarkable team of professionals. Working with all of you everyday is a gift that I have been blessed to receive and one for which I give thanks everyday.
It’s been a busy year for all of us. Across the Warwick Campus and the System there has been lots of activity. In Warwick we’ve added new services like Sub Acute, Rehab at Schervier Pavilion, a respite program at Mount Alverno Center and opened the our community based Women’s Imaging Center. In Suffern, approval was received for an Open Heart Surgery program at Good Samaritan Hospital, and Bon Secours Community Hospital initiated Vascular Lab services.
We have seen construction and renovation, we’ve added new equipment and welcomed new staff members and through it all, you have risen to the occasion. For these, and many other reasons, I give thanks to all of you for your caring and unwavering support, your hard work and steadfast belief in our purpose.
To our Sponsors, Boards of Directors and contributors, thank you for hearing our voices, for sharing your incredible range of insights and talents with us and for your generosity. It’s because of you we are fulfilling our Mission. You not only enrich our lives, you shore up our faith in our future.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to those who cannot be with us—our brave men and women serving in the U S and abroad. These fine individuals make us all very proud, giving us good reason to give our thanks to them and their families and let us also remember to cherish the shared values that give us the strength to do the best job we can to ‘bring good help to those in need.’
I know that many of you will be working on Thanksgiving, sacrificing your time with family and friends to care for those entrusted to our care. Your reassuring presence and compassionate care will make this difficult time more pleasant for them. On their behalf I thank you for the joy and warmth you will give them. May you have a wonderful Thanksgiving – God Bless you All! |
