As you know, fiscal year 2004 is off to a good start.  The past two months have been both busy and exciting for the Bon Secours Family.

NATIONAL SYSTEM NEWS:
Earlier this month, I had an opportunity to meet with BSHSI leadership and was pleased to tell them about the outstanding work you are doing here on the Warwick Health Care Campus.  Mr. Chris Carney, BSHSI Chief Executive Officer, and Don Strange, Sr. Vice President Operations NE Division, during a recent visit to our Campus expressed his gratitude for our continued hard work and dedication to Mission and for continuing to help build a unified Bon Secours.

CHARITY SYSTEM NEWS:
We send our congratulations to Good Samaritan Hospital who recently received State approval to begin a primary angioplasty program. This is a program that will no doubt save many lives and we are proud and excited for Good Sam.

WARWICK HEALTH CARE CAMPUS NEWS:
On the financial front, I am pleased to report that for the first two months of our new fiscal year we continue to report strong results. I thank all of you for your diligence and adherence to our goals.  Our successes are your achievements – THANK YOU and please keep up the good work.

I also want to thank the staff and physicians who volunteered their time and worked so hard on events like Health Heart Day and Warwick Applefest. We continue to reach out into the community and have increased outreach by almost 60% - programs like these makes an impact on the health and wellbeing of our community.

I want to extend a very special congratulations to Barbara Hansen,  SACH Director Staff Development and Cathy Newell, Housekeeping Aide, Schervier Pavilion,  recipients of the Bon Secours 2003 Dedicated Service Award.  Congratulations to Barbara and Cathy and our thanks for truly living our MISSION.

I know you will also join me in congratulating Schervier Pavilion for being awarded the Employer Appreciation Certificate at the recent National Disability Employment Awards Ceremony. Congratulations to Schervier and to Mary Praslicka, HR Manager and Ronald Sztyndor, Director of Plant Operations who were presented with the award.

THANKSGIVING MESSAGE

Thanksgiving is that special day each year that we set aside to celebrate the many blessings we have received during the year. It is a time for us to gather with our family and loved ones to give thanks for all that we enjoy.  I encourage you to join me in reflecting upon the meaning of this special day. The tradition of thanksgiving is rooted in the spirit of unity and charity.  It is a time to express our appreciation to all those who serve their community. In this spirit, I want to thank all of you who have and continue to serve our patients and residents.  It is your commitment and your dedication that makes us the finest health care providers in the region.

I also ask you to join with me in wishing those who are serving in our armed forces far away from home – a Happy Thanksgiving. We give them our thanks for the invaluable contributions they make on our behalf. God Bless you all and thank you for all you do.

Together we've made a history in healthcare -  Together we will build the future - Together we bring

GOOD HELP TO THOSE IN NEED.
