I love Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is probably the most widely observed, spiritual holiday in the country. It’s certainly one of the most important because, Thanksgiving is non-denominational – it’s a holiday truly embraced by all.

As a nation … as individuals … we take pause on Thanksgiving to celebrate the many gifts that are a part of our daily lives: our families and friends, our values, our well-being and our faith in God and in one another. They are reminders to us all that we are truly blessed with life's most precious things.

In preparing this message, I spent time reflecting on this past year and the many gifts for which I am truly grateful. Among the gifts I most appreciate is the gift of being part of such a remarkable team of professionals. Working with all of you everyday is a gift that I have been blessed to receive and one for which I give thanks everyday.

You know, the healthcare profession has taken some hard hits these days. Just when you think the road is clear, up comes another obstacle, another challenge to be overcome. But no matter how large the obstacle or difficult the challenge you have risen to the occasion. You have worked together to find solutions.

Whatever successes we have experienced this past year are your successes. For this reason, I want to take this time to personally thank each and every one of you … the staff, physicians, and volunteers of the Warwick Health Care Campus, for your caring and unwavering support … not to mention your hard work and steadfast belief in our purpose.

To our Sponsors, Boards of Directors and Contributors, thank you for hearing our voices, for sharing your incredible range of insights and talents with us and for your generosity. It’s because of you we are fulfilling our Mission. You not only enrich our lives, you shore up our faith in our future.

As we give thanks on this special holiday, let us also remember our young men and women serving in the military who will be spending this Thanksgiving dealing with dealing the pain and loneliness of a holiday away from friends and family. Keep them in your prayers and in your hearts.

Many of you will be working on Thanksgiving, sacrificing your time with family and friends to care for those entrusted to our care. Your reassuring presence and compassionate care will make this difficult time more pleasant for them. On their behalf I thank you for the joy and warmth you will give them. May you have a wonderful Thanksgiving – God Bless you All!
