I am sure you will all agree that it’s been a very busy spring for the Warwick Health Care Campus, and with summer close at hand, I know that many of you are getting ready to take those long awaited and deserved vacations. So I want to take this opportunity to wish all of you a very safe and fun filled summer.
NEWS FROM OUR ER
I am pleased to share with you some good news, the appointment of Robert Dittmeier, M.D. F.A.C.E.P, as Director of Emergency Services for SACH effective August 9th. As most of you may know, Dr. Dittmeier served as the Director of our Emergency Department from July of 1996 through October of 1999 and during that time made significant contributions to St. Anthony Community Hospital and worked closely with the Emergency Medical Services Community. He was involved with community outreach and education and ran the Hospital’s first Teddy Bear Clinic.
We eagerly look forward to his return and I know you will join me in welcoming him back to the Warwick Health Care Campus family.
UPCOMING EVENTS
On Wednesday, June 20th, we will be hosting a Physician Office Staff Appreciation Breakfast in the Greenbrier Room at Mount Alverno Center. This event is our way of saying Thank You for their help throughout the year and to let them know how much we appreciate having them as part of the Warwick Health Care Campus Team.
The Warwick Fire Department will be holding its annual Firefighter’s Parade and Carnival on Friday, June 28th as 7:00 PM. We would like to see the Warwick Campus well represented and we are looking for volunteers to participate in this event. If you are interested in ‘walking the walk’ contact Bill Predmore in Housekeeping at Ext 5210 or Ann Lombardi-Nathan in the Public Relations Office at ext. 5385.
Saturday June 16th is the St. Anthony Community Hospital Auxiliary (SACHA) Annual June Party. The June Party is SACHA’s major fundraising event of the year. Proceeds from the June Party go toward the purchase of needed equipment for our Campus. I want to thank our staff and physicians for their demonstration of support for this event and I look forward to seeing many of you on Saturday.
We are also offering a FREE “Learn to Enjoy Sun Safety” program on Thursday, June 20th at 7:00 PM in the SACH 3rd floor conference room. Dr. Frank Winski, Plastic Surgeon, will be the program presenter. This informational program will provide participants with important information on how to protect skin from sun damage. For more information call Jean Ciampo extension 5840.
Sunday is Father’s Day and I am reminded of a quote I read some time ago. “Any man can be a father. It takes someone special to be a dad. ~ Anonymous.” I want to wish all our Dad’s a very Happy Fathers Day.
